About

UUID Generator is a free web tool with no sign-up. Generate random v4 UUIDs in your browser. It is one of a growing set of single-purpose utilities published at tools.glowhalo.org, each doing one job on its own page so it loads fast and is easy to find.

Who runs it

The tools are built and maintained by GlowHalo, a small independent studio based in Seoul, Korea. You can reach the team at help@glowhalo.org or through the contact page. Bug reports and ideas for new tools are welcome and every message is read.

How the tools are made

Each tool is written as plain HTML and JavaScript with no framework and no account system. We start from a real task people search for, such as checking a keyboard, converting a photo or counting characters, and build the smallest page that does it well. Before a page is published we run it in a real browser to confirm that the controls and results behave as described, and we read the explanation on the page against what the code actually does. When a description and the code disagree, we fix the description.

Every tool has a written guide below it that explains how to use it, how the result is calculated and where its limits are. We would rather tell you what a tool cannot do than let you find out later.

How your data is handled

The tools run entirely inside your browser. Text you type, files you drop in and numbers you enter are processed on your own device by the page's JavaScript. They are not uploaded to our servers, so we cannot see them, store them or lose them. Closing the tab ends the session. The only things kept are small convenience settings, such as the 24-hour clock preference, which stay in your browser's local storage on your device. See the privacy policy for the full details.

How the site is paid for

The tools are free to use and we do not ask for payment or personal details. Running the site costs money for hosting, domains and our time, and we cover it with advertising from Google AdSense.

What we do not do

• We do not require an account or collect names or phone numbers.
• We do not sell personal information.
• We do not hide results behind a sign-up, a trial or a paywall.
